hello
you may or may not know that ive got a book coming out. its called 'humor' and its published by faber + faber on november 6. there are 2 editions; a 'standard' hardback [really quite posh] and a limited edition version that is printed on hemp paper that comes signed + with a print + in a slipcase [really incredibly posh].
theres also a sort of launch event on november 3 at the social in london. information here
ps if youve got or read my earlier books called 'slowly downward' and 'household worms' everything will be familiar because its both of those stuck together with new pictures and a fancy-assed cover...As an experiment we are using a new version of BitTorrent to distribute a new Thom Yorke record.
The new Torrent files have a pay gate to access a bundle of files..
The files can be anything, but in this case is an 'album'.
It's an experiment to see if the mechanics of the system are something that the general public can get its head around ...
If it works well it could be an effective way of handing some control of internet commerce back to people who are creating the work.
Enabling those people who make either music, video or any other kind of digital content to sell it themselves.
Bypassing the self elected gate-keepers.
If it works anyone can do this exactly as we have done.
The torrent mechanism does not require any server uploading or hosting costs or 'cloud' malarkey.
It's a self-contained embeddable shop front...
The network not only carries the traffic, it also hosts the file. The file is in the network.
Oh yes and it's called
Tomorrow's Modern Boxes.

Just wanted to let you know about a benefit show in my hometown, Oxford, that I'm involved with. Its called Childish Things, and takes place on Monday 24th and Tuesday 25th March at The New Theatre. It is a mixture of music and comedy and raises much needed funds for Helen and Douglas House, a hospice in Oxford for children and young adults. Over the past decade, I've had many brilliant nights at Childish Things, both as a performer and part of the audience. This year will be particularly special, as it's the tenth anniversary of the event, and also the last set of shows. Here's some more information about this year's line up, buying tickets and Helen and Douglas House itself:

We have made an app called PolyFauna.
PolyFauna is an experimental collaboration between us (Radiohead) & Universal Everything, born out of The King of Limbs sessions and using the imagery and the sounds from the song Bloom.
It comes from an interest in early computer life-experiments and the imagined creatures of our subconscious.
Your screen is the window into an evolving world.
