Radiohead plus support will be playing "Poznan for Earth" in Cytadela City Park, Poznan, Poland.
ENVIRONMENTAL SUMMARY
Cytadela City Park is located in Poznań, Poland -- approximately 1.2 km from the Old Market and city centre.
Transportation:
Due to the central location of the city park, there are multiple train and bus transport options within walking distance of the venue. Poznań Główny, the main train station connecting Poznań with other cities, is 2 km from the city park.
Energy:
Backstage energy was powered by mains; stage electricity was powered by generators.
Recycling:
The venue featured a wide range of recycling collection bins including paper, metals, plastic bottles, food waste, biodegradable packaging, and corn plastic. Biodegradable waste was collected for off site processing due to park limitations.
Catering:
Caterers provided washable plates, cutlery, cups for all meals. Uncooked food scraps were collected for composting. As with almost all of our shows, water coolers were provided for use with refillable water bottles.
Other green initiatives/issues:
We were informed after the fact that the venue barred audience members from bringing in sealed water bottles into the venue, resulting in huge amounts of excess waste at the venue gates.
Friends of the Earth Poland: Polish Ecological Club were welcomed participants, focusing on raising public awareness about climate change and related political campaigns in Poland.
Many thanks to Julia Stryjska and Paulina Tarnawska for their support.
