La Pista Atlética del Estadio Nacional is an athletic field next to the National Stadium in Santiago, Chile. Due to the last minute change in venue, not all the environmental information was available in advance of our show.
Parking:
The venue is connected to the public transport network via metro stations Irrarazaval, Ñuble, Baquedano, and Manuel Montt with a connecting bus.
Recycling:
Single stream recycling stations were setup in catering and throughout backstage area. The promoters invited an outside organized to coordinate the pickup and sorting of waste from the event, the procedes from which will be used for a local children's foundation.
Catering:
Caterers provided washable plates and cutlery for all meals and used certified organic food whenever possible, donating used food to a local non-profit. Large water coolers were provided for use with our refillable water bottles, though a small number of sealed large-sized water bottles were also available.
Other green initiatives/issues:
Friends of the Earth Chile (National Committee for the Defense of Flora and Fauna - CODEFF) were welcomed participants at both of our Santiago shows. You can read more about their work here: http://www.codeff.cl/
