ENVIRONMENTAL SUMMARY

Parc Jean Drapeau is located on an island across the St. Lawrence River from downtown Montreal. It is easily accessible via the Jean Drapeau metro station.

Parking:

Due to space limitations on the island and the ease of public transport links, there was no preferential carpool park for this show. Audience members were encouraged to take the train or ride their bicycles.

Energy:

The venue electricity is supplied by Hydro Quebec which is 97% hydroelectric power.

Recycling:

The venue has a full recycling program backstage and throughout the audience area.

Catering:

Caterers provided washable plates, cutlery, and biodegradable cups for all meals. As with almost all of our shows, water coolers were provided for use with our refillable water bottles. The promoter paid extra to bring in support for industrial compost processing of our food waste.

Concessions:

The concessions company uses recyclable cups which are recycled by the venue. The first wave of recyclable sorting is done by volunteers, the rest done by the waste management company.

Other green initiatives/issues:

The venue has installed low flow faucets, low flow shower heads, green hand soap, recycled pater toilet paper and hand towels.

Many thanks to Rick Annett, Stephane LeClerc, and Dustin Moores for their assistance with the show.
