ENVIRONMENTAL SUMMARY

The venue is 8 miles / 12 km from downtown Tampa and audience transportation is 100% car. The venue is on a fairgrounds with no public transportation and little walking infrastructure. Florida is generally behind on recycling, however this venue already has recycling programs in place for backstage, administration, and throughout the seating area.

Carpooling:

Due to the demand for spots that we experienced the first show, we sectioned off a much larger area to accommodate carpoolers with 4+ people per car. The layout of the parking intake was particularly ideal for carpool sorting and over 1200 carpoolers were accommodated. Stats on the estimated percentage of car reduction TBA.

Renewable Energy:

Teco Energy sells green tariffs for renewable energy. The venue is working to purchase green energy for our show and for all shows from now on.

Recycling:

We continued our program to reuse paper/batteries and recycle all applicable plastics, cans, papers, cardboard, and dead batteries. Recycling stations for bottles and cans were spread throughout the seated and concession areas of the amphitheatre. There were no recycling stations on the lawn, something which we will specify for future shows.

Catering:

In addition to composting kitchen scraps on site and using all washable plates and cutlery, caterers stocked green hot cups made of recycled paper stock and corn-based PLA plastic lining.

Concessions:

Typical fast food offerings/packaging, though the venue clean up team does sweep through with recycling bags before collecting the rest of the litter. The venue received its supply of corn-based PLA plastic concessions cups the day of our show.

Other green initiatives:

The venue is in the process of switching over to all high efficiency light bulbs, replacing old ones as they burn out. Taps have tap aerators and most shower heads are low flow. Office paper, toilet paper, and hand towels are made of recycled stock.
