ENVIRONMENTAL SUMMARY

The amphitheatre is located 15 miles / 25 km from downtown Charlotte. The nearest public transportation stop is 3 miles away with no shuttle to bridge between public transportation and the venue.

Carpooling:

This particular venue does not usually have enough parking spots to accommodate a sold out audience. At a typical sold out shows, the venue must park cars along side streets and amongst other commercial lots. For our show, the venue was able to fit in all cars into their own lots with room to spare. Over 520 spots were set aside for carpoolers with 4+ people per car.

Renewable Energy:

Duke Power is working on a green tariff program for renewable energy, but it is not yet available at the venue.

Recycling:

The venue offers recycling throughout the entire venue compound, partnering each garbage can with a recycling station. The venue noted a 1:1 ratio of trash to recyclables throughout the audience and parking lot areas.

Catering:

Caterers provided washable plates, cutlery, napkins, and glasses for all meals. If disposable containers were absolutely necessary, we provided biodegradable cups made from bagasse (sugar-cane paper). Caterers collected all their compostable kitchen scraps for use at a local public garden.

Concessions:

This venue is currently using a mix of biodegradable and post-consumer recyclable concessions cups.

Other green initiatives:

The venue has switched over to all high efficiency light bulbs. Taps have tap aerators and most shower heads are low flow. Office paper, toilet paper, and hand towels are made of recycled stock. They plan to continue with the carpooling initiatives.

A special thanks to Peter O'Donnell and Rob Manley for their logistical support.
